2015 seemed to be a really big year for DC Comics in terms of it’s television and movie production. Not only did we have trailers for both the upcoming Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad as well as the successful launch of Supergirl on CBS but there were also talks that a Titans television show was coming to the TNT network. Even though the idea had been introduced in late 2014 it wasn’t until 2015 that we were promised any sort of production on the series. However 2015 has come and gone and with no sign of a startup, TNT officially announced yesterday that the series had been dropped even before it had started.

I personally am very disappointed on this matter. Titans was that one thing that I had been looking forward to in terms of DC’s television lineup. I am honestly over the idea of CW’s Arrow and Fox’s Gotham, the Flash although I have not started personally doesn’t exactly do anything for me either and while I am enjoying Supergirl to the max I was looking forward to seeing some of my favorite Titans getting the spotlight.

While the lineup characters had seemed awkward on more then one occasion, with characters like Starfire, Nightwing, Hawk, Dove and even Oracle to be rumored I still felt like this series had something very special to bring to the table. Being on a network like TNT we might have finally seen the DC Universe branch itself outside of the god awful teenage drama of the CW all while balancing the grittiness of Fox’s Gotham and even NBC’s Constantine. TNT really missed out on their big chance here.

It just would have been nice to see some of my favorite characters reinventing the stories that I love yet now it seems that dream is done forever. Here’s to hoping that we can see some sort of  Titan’s/Teen Titans inspired media in the future.

Apparently the director thought the script that they had come up with just couldn’t have been good enough to really display such a key part of the DC universe. It disappoints me as well to hear that they just dropped it, but at least if anyone decided to pick it up, they realize the expectations and standards that they must hold in order to really display the Titans to the audience, as well as the comics, that can differentiate themselves from the other DC shows in place.

The most fulfilling feeling is saying things will get better and after months of struggling, fighting, clawing your way out of obstacles that constantly try to bring you down, you get past them, you overcome them, and these obstacles become nothing more than grains of sand and you realize, after all of the pain you endured, that you made it and things did indeed, get better.
